COMBATING SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER (S.A.D.)
Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) is a mood disorder associated with seasonal changes and happens due to a disturbance in the circadian system.
Symptoms include:
depressed on most days, feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness, reduced energy, loss of concentration, suicidal thoughts to name a few.
Did you know that massage therapy is one of the relaxation techniques used to combat S.A.D. ? It is one of the method that I myself use to combat my own S.A.D. along with daily exercise; light, music, and art therapy; and proper nutrition.
So, the next time you feel any of those symptoms, reach out to a massage therapist that understands you.
